The lobby and all public spaces have been completely redesigned, with guestrooms available by mid-September. The final completion is slated for January 28, 2017 – Chinese New Year!

A new hotel for the new Beijing, the renovated hotel now offers the largest guestrooms in Beijing and some of the largest in China.

Some highlights include:

Guestrooms/Suites

• The Peninsula Beijing will now offer the largest guestrooms in Beijing and some of the most spacious luxury hotel rooms in China, starting at 60 square meters.
• 17 “Beijing Suites” (at 162 square meters) each boast their own screening room
• Duplex suites are located on the top floor of the hotel featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with views over the city
• The Peninsula Suite (highest level accommodation in all Peninsula Hotels) will be reimagined as a 660 square-meter modern-day palatial home of a Chinese aristocrat in old Beijing. It will feature antiques and artworks throughout, a dining room seating up to 18 with a separate kitchen, living room, study, private gym, guest bedroom and private elevator

Culinary

• All ingredients at the four on-site restaurants have been vetted and sourced only from 22 U.S.- and Chinese government-certified artisanal farms and partner suppliers – a first for China.
• All ingredients are traceable, sustainable and predominantly certified organic. No other hotel in the People's Republic of China can guarantee the origin of its dishes to the same extent
• The Peninsula Beijing will have an on-site greenhouse to cultivate fresh herbs

Service

• The hotel will have an on-site physiotherapist trained in Chinese and Western techniques
• Front desk check-in goes away; all guests will be escorted directly to their rooms, where check-in and check-out happens with an iPad
• All front-of-house staff will be cross-trained as concierges
