The PuXuan Hotel and Spa Set To Open in Beijing, Early 2019

Beckoning a new standard of luxury in China’s capital, the forthcoming hotel will begin welcoming guests in early January 2019. An urban haven, only steps away from Beijing’s Forbidden City, The PuXuan is the latest luxury hotel by Urban Resort Concepts (URC), a China-based luxury hotel management company that specializes in creating bespoke hospitality experiences throughout Asia. Inspired by Beijing’s deep-rooted history, culture and heritage, The PuXuan is located at the intersection of famed WangFuJing Street and WuSi Street, a symbolic crossroads of history, commerce and arts.

The PuXuan will be comprised of 92 elegant and luxuriously appointed guest rooms and 24 suites, each featuring handcrafted, artisanal furniture by Hermès-owned lifestyle brand SHANG XIA and awe-inspiring views over Beijing’s Forbidden City. Designed by internationally acclaimed German architect Ole Scheeren (formerly with OMA), the hotel completes the new Guardian Art Centre in the heart of Beijing’s most storied district. In collaboration with Shanghai-based design firm MQ-studio, the hotel’s interiors will exemplify Urban Resort Concept’s hallmark design principles, integrating luxurious and understated metaphorical design throughout a modern space, uniquely crafted with local, cultural references. The hotel’s artwork, curated by the Guardian Art Centre, who also holds a controlling stake in Sotheby’s, will feature some of the finest contemporary Chinese art in the region today.

The hotel’s two flagship restaurants will feature a modern French restaurant with Chef Ivan Miguez at the helm (formerly with 3-Michelin star Ultraviolet) as well as a contemporary Cantonese gastronomic restaurant led by Executive Chef Waikit Yeung. At both restaurants, guests will discover a new appreciation for local provenance as they enjoy a seasonal menu that highlights the unique flavors of the freshest, local and heirloom ingredients. Later in 2019, the hotel will reveal an expansive rooftop bar that will boast unobstructed views of the Beijing skyline and provide guests with a unique perspective over the Forbidden City. The PuXuan, a true oasis in the heart of the city will also feature Urban Resort Concept’s proprietary UR SPA that will offer treatments using CHA LING – “L’Espirit du Thé”, a brand developed by Guerlain that blends the healing and rejuvenating properties of traditional Chinese Pu’Er tea with the art of French beauty.  Other amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a variety of indoor and outdoor venues for both corporate and social gatherings, equipped with leading edge audio-visual technology.

The custom formulations of the hotel’s guest room amenities, in collaboration with leading perfumiers La Bottega, will go on sale at Saks Fifth Avenue early 2019.

The PuXuan reflects an entirely guest-centric experience rooted in a culture of URC’s proprietary “Hostmanship.” The PuXuan’s revolutionary guest service experience encompasses the spirits of intuitiveness and generosity at its very core. With uncompromising standards of aesthetics and service, the hotel connects its guests to a quintessential Chinese experience, rooted in authenticity and context by playing host to locality. Redefining the luxury hotel guest experience landscape in Beijing, the many inclusions and benefits at The PuXuan  will include 24-hour check-in and check-out, complimentary access to the fully stocked mini-bar, free best in class WiFi, Beijing’s LUXE City Guide for mobile devices, use of meeting rooms, free pressing and local calls, as well as breakfast served anywhere in the hotel.
