The Restaurant at Meadowood Napa Valley Hailed as Most Romantic
The Internet's dominant restaurant reservation site recently queried its more than 130,000 members for a series of "best of" dining recommendations across the country. The eponymous culinary experience at Meadowood Napa Valley in St. Helena, California, came out on top for the Bay Area, besting such noteworthy regional dining rooms as Fleur de Lys, Cyrus and French Laundry.

And quite a culinary experience The Restaurant at Meadowood is. Wrapped in the beauty of Napa Valley and the two hundred-fifty-acre estate, The Restaurant dazzles with Chef Christopher Kostow's classic take on Napa Valley cuisine created from fresh, flavorful and healthy local provisions that express a sense of place as well as of taste. Each dish is balanced with its relationship to wine from Meadowood's 950-label list, intriguingly paired by Sommelier Rom Toulon to heighten the flavor and enjoyment of the food.

As wonderful as the OpenTable.com plaudit is, the website's readers are hardly the first to praise The Restaurant at Meadowood. In recent months, the restaurant received two stars from the Michelin Guide, was hailed as one of the Best New Restaurants of 2007 by Esquire, and this year earned a coveted Best Award of Excellence from the Wine Spectator.

The Restaurant at Meadowood offers prix fixe and a la carte selections with wine pairings available for each course, as well as a nightly seven-course Chef's Menu along with artisan cheeses and desserts. Diners may also romance themselves at The Restaurant Bar, tuck into something a tad more casual at The Grill, or order into the privacy of their guest rooms at Meadowood for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night meals.
