Paying tribute to the resort’s location in Half Moon Bay, California – 30 minutes south of San Francisco on the coast and fondly known as the “Pumpkin Capital of the World” – the whimsical pumpkin experiences will be available throughout the month of October and encompass a variety of activities and offerings exclusively for resort guests.
Pumpkin Macaron-Making Class
Marriott Bonvoy Elite members interested in learning how to make sweet autumn treats can take a hands-on macaron-making class with acclaimed Pastry Chef Aurélien Revil Signorat. The interactive class will teach guests the art of making the perfect macaron for fall and include macarons to take home. Pumpkin Afternoon Tea
To fully embrace the great gourd, the culinary team at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay will offer a special pumpkin-themed afternoon tea experience in the ocean-view Conservatory restaurant. The service will feature savory finger sandwiches, such as egg and mayonnaise with pumpkin seeds and chives; Waldorf organic chicken salad on brioche; and smoked salmon with cucumber, applewood smoked trout roe and dill cream cheese on multi-grain bread. Alongside tea sandwiches, sweet delights include pumpkin and spice scones, cranberry eggnog tartlet, crème fraîche cheesecake and pumpkin ganache, and mint chocolate chip petit gateau. With seasonal sandwiches and sweets, guests can savor the flavors of fall while taking in breathtaking coastal views. As part of the brand-wide Community Footprints charitable initiative, the resort will donate $10 for every pumpkin afternoon tea reservation to Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside. Available Monday –Thursday throughout October from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Pricing is $99 for adults and $45 for children ages 12 and under. Hand-Painted Pumpkin Art by Local Artist Christie Smith
As part of the resort’s passion for embracing local artisans, the property has partnered with local artist Christie Smith to present four hand-painted pumpkin art pieces. Each lobby alcove will feature one of Ms. Smith’s pumpkin art pieces surrounding by beautiful flower arrangements, providing a unique way for travelers to experience local art. Those wishing to experience more of Ms. Smith’s fine art can view her paintings in Navio or purchase her pumpkin art pieces in the spa gift shop.
Instagram-Worthy Pumpkin Display
Those seeking the ultimate autumn Instagram moment can strike a pose in front of the resort’s popular pumpkin display. Boasting dozens of photo-worthy pumpkins, The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay offers the perfect backdrop for a festive fall photo.
