The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel Hosts The Diamond Ball for Animal Charities
The mission of The Diamond Ball is to raise funds for animal charities that save lives. The beneficiaries of the 2013 gala are Friends of Orange County's Homeless Pets (FOCHP) and the Wounded Veteran Initiative of Canine Companions for Independence (CCI).

“The Diamond Ball is our first extension from our successful two seasons of Yappy Hour,” said General Manager Bruce Brainerd. “It takes our passion for supporting animal-related causes to the next level. Our responsibility extends beyond the day-to-day hotel operations and supports one of the many meaningful causes that our community and neighbors are passionate about,” he added.

Canine Companions for Independence helps veterans put their lives back together after being injured by providing assistance dogs that help them regain independence. FOCHP helps make homeless and unwanted pets more adoptable and provides them with a forever family.

“Having FOCHP and CCI together as beneficiaries solidifies our vision that it's not just about people saving animal's lives; it's about how animals save people's lives too,” added Brainerd.

Held over the Veteran's Day Weekend (Saturday, November 9), The Diamond Ball tickets are $250 per person. The evening includes a silent and live auction, and a four-course dinner presented by Executive Chef Pedro Contreras. The evening also includes The Diamond Drop Extravaganza, an opportunity where guests can donate gems and jewelry in support of the cause.
