The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo Unveils 'Modern Japanese Suite'
Seamlessly blending traditional Japanese design with a chic, contemporary aesthetic, the luxury hotel suite embodies a modern interpretation of Japanese-style living in sleek, Tokyo fashion.

With a fresh approach, the interiors of the ‘Modern Japanese Suite' feature contemporary Japanese touches all throughout. Led by renowned Asia-based DESIGN STUDIO SPIN, the design focuses on creating horizontal lines allowing the shimmering Tokyo skyline to be the focal point of the space. The design, coupled with generous expansive windows, creates the sensation that the skyline is an extension of the suite. Additionally, the design team was inspired by the traditional Sukiya-style, a Japanese architecture fashion originated from a tea room, which utilizes tatami floors and plain wood pillars and ceilings to create a sophisticated and calming ambiance. To add a modern edge to the interior, the hotel suite also features a black futon-style bed frame – available in King or Double Twin – with a wood and leather platform as if the bed is floating amongst the clouds.

The ‘Modern Japanese Suite' encompasses an intimate dining room and a stylish living room, dressed in Kyoto Nishijin fabric. Complementing the suite is a high-definition, seventy-inch television, which swivels on an axis and acts as a divider between the bedroom and living room, complemented by traditional floral-painted sliding fusuma paper doors on either side. From a black, hand-crafted bud vase to the art photographs of sunshine and foliage on hand-crafted washi paper, the ambience of this suite is peaceful and chic. The debut of the two ‘Modern Japanese Suites' join the Tokyo hotel's remaining 246 guest rooms and suites, the Club Lounge, signature restaurant Hinokizaka and The Lobby Lounge & Bar, as part of the multi-phase transformation.

To commemorate the new suite, The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo is now offering a ‘Spirit of Tokyo' package, dedicated to inspire guests to discover the beauty of Japan's capital. The package includes overnight accommodations including breakfast and a Tokyo Sake burly welcome amenity. The experience can be further enhanced with a stay in the ‘Modern Japanese Suite,' access to the newly rejuvenated Club Lounge, and dinner in Hinokizaka followed by a Japanese Whiskey tasting session at The Bar as additional options.

The ‘Spirit of Tokyo' package is available beginning March 21, 2016 and nightly rates start at approximately 479 USD. Reservations and more information about The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo is available at https://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/hotels/japan/tokyo.
