The Royal Villa at The Oberoi, Marrakech Reopens its Doors to the World

Nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, The Royal Villa at The Oberoi, Marrakech, which first opened in December 2019, is the crown jewel of the Oberoi experience in Morocco. As travelers venture beyond borders to explore the world once more, the Royal Villa re-opens its doors to discerning guests seeking North African splendour and heartfelt hospitality.

Designed by Casablanca-based architect Patrick Collier and interior designer Hayat Kabbaj, the spacious 3,810 square-foot residence features two bedrooms (a master and a double) with private entrances. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and a dressing room. A beautifully sunlit living room featuring a library replete with Indian masterpieces and contemporary reads, and a comfortable, elegant lounge with a fireplace flank an expansive dining room with ample room for guests. A fully-equipped kitchen and pantry, along with private staff quarters with bathrooms, ensure that comfort and convenience married with elegance and sophistication define the experience. Additionally, a personal butler is on call at all times to enhance an already indulgent experience, meeting every need or whim.

The architecture of the Royal Villa is based on the ancient Moroccan and Andalusian architectural styles depicted in the grand palaces of the 14th-century Berber Merenid Dynasty, while its décor, with its emphasis on gold fabrics and richly-hued silks, is reflective of the styles of ancient Indian palaces, an homage to Oberoi Hotels & Resorts’ Indian roots. A combination of old and modern design details is both ascetically pleasing and designed to evoke a sense of serenity and complete relaxation.

Attention to detail ranges from the soothing sounds of a bubbling water fountain set inside the centre patio to modern floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of stunning garden views. Hand-carved ceilings, crystal chandeliers, silk carpets and a marble-clad floor offer opulent touches at every turn.

Exterior features include a private terrace, a heated swimming pool and a 6,770 square-foot lawn and garden set between the resort’s centuries-old olive groves and fragrant orange orchards, perfect for enjoying sultry days and starlit nights with family and friends.

For in-residence entertaining, a personal chef and kitchen staff are on hand to prepare whatever your heart (and stomach) desires, from mouthwatering barbecues to sparkling cocktail parties.

Rates for the Royal Villa start at 38,000 MAD per night. (Approximately $3,766 USD.)
