The Safari Collection’s Giraffe Manor Unveils Major New Expansion
Set across 12 acres of private gardens within 140 acres of indigenous forest in Nairobi’s Langata suburb, The Safari Collection’s Giraffe Manor has reopened its doors, unveiling a considered new chapter that deepens the guest experience while staying true to the manor’s original character. The reopening introduces a series of exciting additions designed to enhance how guests live, dine and spend time across the property, with spaces that connect more seamlessly to the surrounding forest.
AN ALL NEW FAMILY SUITE:
The new Finch Hatton Family Suite offers two en-suite bedrooms, a private lounge and a balcony positioned for close-up moments with the manor’s resident giraffes. Designed with families in mind, it provides extra space and privacy without losing the signature Giraffe Manor experience.
BREAKFAST WITH A VIEW:
Redesigned with three-sided, panoramic views, The Garden Manor breakfast room now offers an even more remarkable setting for early-morning giraffe visits. At its far end, guests can also marvel at a new mural by Kenyan artist Camille Wekesa, which celebrates local wildlife and landscape.

THE ORCHID HOUSE & WINE CELLAR:
A new Orchid House offers a light-filled setting for private dining, created from Co-founders and Owners, Tanya and Mikey Carr-Hartley’s shared passion for orchids. Home to around 150 orchids, it’s available to visit at any time during a stay,  whether for a quiet moment to read, meditate or sketch, and can also be booked at dusk for a candlelit private dinner surrounded by the collection. A new walk-in wine cellar houses a curated selection of some of Africa’s finest wines, with the option for guided tastings led by an expert sommelier.

THE GARDEN COFFEE EXPERIENCE:
Created for coffee lovers, this new experience shines a light on Kenya’s coffee culture, taking guests through the journey from bean to cup, including how coffee is grown, processed and brewed for flavour.
THE RETREAT:
Guests will also continue to enjoy full access to The Retreat, the wellness sanctuary located just 80 metres from the Main Manor. Designed as a place to reset before or after travel, it offers a heated infinity pool overlooking the giraffe sanctuary, a sauna and steam room, hot tub, a fully equipped gym, and dedicated treatment rooms for massages and therapies, alongside relaxed all-day dining at Daisy’s Café.
Crucially, every stay at Giraffe Manor supports The Safari Collection’s Footprint Foundation, which channels funding into long-term wildlife and community initiatives across Kenya. Contributions help sustain the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife’s giraffe breeding and protection programme - part of broader efforts that have helped increase numbers of the endangered Nubian giraffe from the brink of extinction, as well as partner with the Giraffe Conservation Foundation to support wild giraffe populations continent-wide. The Footprint Foundation also backs a range of conservation, community and environmental projects, from habitat protection to education and local outreach, ensuring each visit contributes to protecting wildlife and strengthening local communities.
Rates at Giraffe Manor start from US$1,413 (approx. £1,030) per person full board including arrival/departure transfers and all experiences mentioned above, excluding spa treatments. Rates for day rooms at The Retreat start from US$880(approx. £677) based on two people sharing. For more information please visit:  www.thesafaricollection.com/giraffemanor
