The Taj Mahal Tower Re-opens December 21, 2008
• 268 guest rooms, including 9 Suites and 26 Taj Club Rooms with personalized "invisible butler" service
• Two Jaguar motorcars have been added to the hotel's transportation fleet, to permit transfers in luxurious comfort.

In addition, at 7:30 p.m., a number of restaurants and banquet facilities will re-open, including:

• The Zodiac Grill, the hotel's fine dining restaurant featuring French cuisine and tableware from the House of Bernardaud
• Souk, the award-winning Middle Eastern rooftop restaurant with dining options that include a luncheon buffet and Casablanca for private dining
• Masala Kraft, the hotel's contemporary Indian restaurant featuring light, healthy versions of regional favorites
• Aquarius, the hotel's popular outdoor poolside lounge
• Shamiana, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant
• Starboard Bar, the hotel's convivial night spot with signature cocktails and European and Cuban fusion snacks
• La Patisserie, Mumbai's preferred pastry shop and delicatessen that is also a source for gift hampers
• The Rooftop Rendezvous Banquet Hall
• The club-style Chambers lounge

The Tower wing was designed by American architect Melton Bekker in 1973.

The Taj Group has set up the "Taj Public Service Welfare Trust" (TPS Welfare Trust) to provide immediate relief to all victims of the recent attack, including to the families of those who were killed, be it the general public, the security forces, employees of the Taj, or employees of other establishments affected by the terrorists. The Trust will continue to discharge its mandate in the coming years, specifically covering relief to victims of sudden acts of violence, natural disasters, and other tragic events that inflict damage to life and property.
