The Westcliff Johannesburg to become Four Seasons Hotel
The property was closed June 30 for renovations. It will reopen as Four Seasons Hotel Westcliff Johannesburg in the second quarter of 2014.

The hotel offers views over the city, with sunsets over the Magaliesberg hills. It will have a new spa, a fitness center and an outdoor pool. The hotel's new owners have hired the original architect of The Westcliff, Johannesburg-based RSL Architects, to keep the enhancements in character with the original architectural concept.

Sebastien Carre will take over as general manager Aug. 1. A native of Lyon, France, Carre has been with Four Seasons for 10 years and has served as hotel manager at Four Seasons Washington, general managers of Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora and general manager of Red Sea resort at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

In 2012 the company opened Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, Tanzania with 77 guest rooms, including 12 suites with plunge pools and five free-standing villas with private swimming pools.
