The Westin St. Francis Celebrates Its 110th Anniversary Throughout 2014
Originally opened in 1904 to international acclaim, the hotel quickly became the center of the west coast’s social, theatrical and business life. Commissioned by Charles T. Crocker and his affluent circle of friends, their vision of making San Francisco the “Paris of the West” and the St. Francis Hotel the flagship came to life after two years of construction and $2.5 million, a hefty sum for that time period. The opening of the historic St. Francis Hotel set a new echelon for innovation and opulence in San Francisco.

Throughout the entire year, guests and visitors to The Westin St. Francis can celebrate the 110th anniversary of the hotel with special packages, menu items, historic tours, spa treatments and more. • Pacific Pleasure Sea Salt Glow – The Westin St. Francis was home to a bathhouse on the 11th and 12th floors where seawater was pumped in from the San Francisco Bay. Now, spa lovers can relive a bit of history while getting silky smooth skin. Sea salt is applied with a massaging motion, the salts are then removed with hot steamed towels, dissolving the salts into the skin, followed by a body cream to leave the skin fully moisturized. 50 minutes $120.

• Milk Manicure & Pedicure - hotel resident Anna Held, wife of theatre performer Florenz Zeigfeld, would only bathe in gallons of milk, and each day waiters would bring 30 gallons of milk to her room to prepare her bath. Featuring products from Archipelago’s Milk line, the treatment begins with a milk soak to nurture and soften, followed by a milk scrub and an oat crème to finish. Manicure $40/Pedicure $50.
