The Principality of Monaco
Monaco offers visitors a refined Christmas experience on the Riviera, where festive markets, sparkling lights, and coastal views come together in one elegant, easily walkable destination. The Christmas Village at Port Hercule is the centrepiece of the celebrations, with wooden chalets selling artisanal food, handcrafted gifts, and local specialties. Visitors can enjoy children’s rides, ice skating by the harbour, and glittering decorations that illuminate the entire Principality. Beyond the market, Monaco’s world-class restaurants, luxury boutiques, and cultural venues host a lively winter programme, making it an ideal choice for a chic European Christmas escape. The festive season officially begins on 27 November, marked by eco-conscious illuminations adorning the streets, squares, and public spaces — including a dazzling light projection on the Casino de Monte-Carlo.
