The World's Most Expensive Airbnbs Revealed, Italian Estate Tops List at $60,584 per night

As the last remnants of summer fade, many are already setting their sights on their next grand getaway, and 2026 offers fresh opportunities to indulge in unmatched luxury and exclusive escapes. In light of this, I am sharing a new report highlighting the most expensive Airbnb listings from the world’s most visited countries.

To highlight the most exclusive and extravagant listings on Airbnb for January 2026, the team at Tradingplatforms selected 86 countries with the highest number of inbound visitors and pinpointed the priciest Airbnb available in each for that period. We meticulously collected every price, including taxes and fees, while eliminating any listings deemed unrealistic or lacking authenticity. Then, a global ranking was created, alongside regional leaderboards, to showcase which countries and continents command the highest nightly rates for stays between January 14-17, 2026. For each property, we compiled essential details such as property type, total cost, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, guest capacity, reviews, and premium amenities, offering a comprehensive and comparable look at the world’s most opulent stays.

The report reveals that the most exclusive properties span multiple continents, with Europe leading with seven listings, including the most expensive Airbnb globally in Italy at $60,584 per night, while the second priciest, in Mexico, is available for $32,058 per night.

"The high cost of these ultra-luxury Airbnbs reflects a growing demand for privacy, exclusivity, and tailored experiences in luxury travel. Affluent travelers are increasingly seeking properties that offer lavish amenities alongside seclusion and unique cultural access. This shift suggests future luxury rentals will focus on isolated, bespoke experiences, with services like personal chefs and concierge teams. Destinations offering privacy and adventure, such as the Bahamas, Dubai, and Morocco, will likely remain in demand, while emerging locations may attract travelers seeking exclusivity without mass commercialization. As the market matures, high prices will be driven by highly personalized, one-of-a-kind experiences." - comments Stanislava Savisheva, data analyst at Tradingplatforms
