Thompson Zihuatanejo Introduces Private Jet Packages for Festive Season

Thompson Zihuatanejo—the third property in Mexico from luxury lifestyle brand Thompson Hotels— has released its 2020 festive season schedule. From December 23 to January 2, guests at Thompson Zihuatanejo may experience events and activities thoughtfully designed to bring to life the authentic Mexican culture for which this region is celebrated.

Ring in 2021 on the white sand beaches of Thompson Zihuatanejo with the New Year’s Eve VIP Experience. Guests can vacation in style with specialty packages for couples or groups. Both packages include the option of booking private jet transportation in partnership with Triumph Jets (the luxury jet charter company with over 30 years of experience in private aviation). Options include:

  • The Beach Suite Package - 5 nights for two in a Beach Suite (beachfront grand suite complete with terrace and plunge pool) and roundtrip luxury ground transportation. Pricing starts at $7,650 for two
  • The Swim-Up Suites Package - 5 nights for 11 rooms (22 guests) in a Swim-Up Suite (beachfront luxury suite that opens to an exclusive adults-only pool) and roundtrip luxury ground transportation. Ideal for pods of families and friends safely travelling together. Pricing starts at $2,928/person
  • Private Jet charter may be added to the above package via the partnership with Triumph Jets, prices start at $37,000. Please inquire at Experience@triumphjets.com to secure your air transfer from LAX to ZIH (roundtrip)

Guests selecting either package will also enjoy food and beverage provided by on-site restaurants Ceniza and Hao, available for beach and poolside dining or within the privacy of the villa; VIP access to the resort’s beachfront New Year’s Eve Party; and an in-suite New Year’s Day Hangover/Refuel Brunch complete with a specialty Bloody Mary Bar.

Festivities leading up to Christmas and New Year’s Eve will take place at Thompson Zihuatanejo’s two chef-driven dining destinations featuring local fare and integrating regional cooking techniques: Hao—a breakfast, lunch, and dinner destination that doubles as an all-day beach club featuring live entertainment, and Ceniza—the Spanish word for ash, a specialty restaurant inspired to take traditional wood-fired cooking techniques to new heights.

Under the direction of new Executive Chef Bernardo Cabrera, guests dining at HAO can enjoy seasonal, Pacific-to-palapa cuisine inspired by harvests from the resort’s garden. Throughout the holiday week, diners will enjoy lunch pop-up specials, a ceviche bar, Oysters and Bubbles, and the not-to-miss La Lupita Taco Night Experience on Saturday, January 2. Additionally, guests may choose to participate in hands-on activities such as Challenge the Chef competitions, cocktail making/tasting classes with the resort bartenders, and even something for the little ones with kids’ cooking classes. Enjoy these exclusive festivities with the new luxury Meal Plan, available at Hao, the beach, poolside, and within the villas. The Meal Plan includes access to themed food nights, one beachfront cooking class to be booked upon arrival, one $50 USD spa credit per room, per stay, and mini bar snacks and beverages restocked daily.

At Ceniza, special themed dinners will be hosted on each of the holiday nights. The restaurant’s Mexican Christmas Eve Dinner will be full of flavors and heritage. On Christmas Day, guests will join Chef Cabrera for a four-course Christmas-Inspired Dinner boasting seasonal products and embark on a journey of fiery and smoky twists on traditional festive recipes. Finally, end the year the Thompson Zihuatanejo way, as Ceniza turns into an unforgettable NYE Celebration with a unique and sensorial menu featuring some of our chef´s favorites of the season. The year ends with fireworks at midnight and a party complete with live music and DJs on La Ropa Beach (where the hotel directly sits).

Thompson Zihuatanejo reopened on September 14 with enhanced safety procedures, an all-inclusive meal package, and a new executive chef who has reconceptualized the resort’s menu offerings. Safety remains a top priority at Thompson Zihuatanejo with a newly implemented Global Care and Cleanliness Commitment that includes protocols to keep a safe environment for both guests and staff. Nightly rates begin at $479, plus tax and service.
