TripAdvisor Names USA's and the World's Top Museums

In total, 591 winners were identified, including the top 25 in the world and dedicated lists for Asia, Canada, Europe, India, South America, South Pacific, the U.K. and the U.S. The awards are based on the millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers worldwide. Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for museums around the world, gathered over a 12-month period.

Top 10 Travelers' Choice Museums in the U.S:

1. The Metropolitan Museum of Art - New York City, New York

Since 1870, this iconic institution on Manhattan's Upper East Side has strived to "connect people to creativity, knowledge and ideas" through art. Guests will have the chance to view the most extensive display of 17th century Dutch art in the Western Hemisphere, with masterpieces by Frans Hals, Rembrandt and Vermeer.
