Trump Finalizes Agreement For Trump International Hotel, The Old Post Office Building, Washington, D.C.
Donald J. Trump's wholly owned company, the TRUMP HOTEL COLLECTION™, is planning a $200-million redevelopment of this national landmark into a super-luxury hotel. The property will be managed by the award-winning TRUMP HOTEL COLLECTION as the new Trump® International Hotel, The Old Post Office Building, Washington, D.C. Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2014, with an anticipated grand opening at the end of 2015.

“The Trump Organization may be New York based, but they have been working with us here in the Congress in great anticipation of developing a hotel in the nation's capital since winning the competition required by our bill, the Old Post Office Redevelopment Act. I look forward to continuing this relationship as the project proceeds, to provide the nation's capital with a trophy hotel, bringing revenue for the federal and D.C. governments alike, and jobs for D.C. residents,” said Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton.

Added Donald J. Trump, president and chairman of The Trump Organization, “This is an exciting moment in the TRUMP HOTEL COLLECTION history. We are thrilled to move forward with our plans to transform one of the nation's most iconic landmarks into the world's finest hotel. It is a responsibility we do not take lightly. The Trump Organization is committed to preserving the architectural integrity of The Old Post Office while creating a hotel that will be peerless both in its amenities and design, and I look forward to sharing details of that design in the weeks to come.”

In February 2012, The Trump Organization was selected by the GSA as the preferred developer of The Old Post Office, in what was the most sought-after hotel redevelopment opportunity in the country, based on the strength of its development team, vision for the property, long-term potential for the local community, and dedication to the preservation of the historic structure.

Seen as a generational asset by the Trump family, the redevelopment plan will infuse the building with new life. Plans for Trump International Hotel, The Old Post Office Building, Washington, D.C. include the highest-caliber features and amenities – with more than 270 expansive guest rooms, penthouses and presidential suites; world-class restaurants, a café, and a bar and lounge; extensive banquet, ballroom and meeting facilities; a 4,000-square-foot Mar-a-Lago Spa by Ivanka Trump; and a library – as well as a curated museum, exhibition gallery, and indoor and outdoor gardens. Once completed, Trump

International Hotel, The Old Post Office Building, Washington, D.C. will raise the bar in global luxury hospitality.
