The Literary Tourism of Elvas – Key to the Kingdom project was launched in 2020 to enhance the region's cultural appeal by creating three literary routes:
António Sardinha Route: Reflecting Lusitanian Integralism and neo-romanticism.
"A Cruz do Corcovado" Route: Inspired by Camilo Castelo Branco’s romanticism.
"O Hissope" Route: Showcasing the neoclassicism of António Dinis da Cruz e Silva, founder of Arcádia Lusitana.
These routes highlight how Elvas's landscapes and social life influenced these authors, blending the city’s material heritage with the symbolic power of literature. Marked by signposts, the trails bring the authors' works and ideals to life, linking past and present, memory and reality.
