VIK Winery is Recognized as The Best Vineyard in the World

VIK, in Chile’s Millahue Valley, has just been named the Best Vineyard in the World in the 2025 edition of The World’s 50 Best Vineyards, the industry’s most influential global ranking. Announced on November 19 in Australia, the award places Chile at the forefront of international wine tourism and recognizes the extraordinary work happening in Millahue, where VIK has reimagined what a modern vineyard experience can be. Please see more below and attached, which I hope will be of interest to you.

The World’s 50 Best Vineyards awards, organized by William Reed (the group behind The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Bars, and Hotels), evaluates far more than wine. The 2025 jury of more than 700 international experts recognized VIK for its rare combination of oenological excellence, architectural ambition, landscape integration, and a hospitality philosophy where art, design, and nature are deeply intertwined.

Founded by Alexander and Carrie Vik, VIK began with an unconventional mission: to create an icon wine from day one. Through territorial analysis, climate studies, precision viticulture, and the careful stewardship of more than 4,500 hectares of diverse soils and microclimates, VIK produces a portfolio celebrated for its purity of terroir. Wines including VIK, Milla Cala, La Piu Belle, Stonevik, and the A line have earned international acclaim, with the VIK icon wine receiving a perfect 100-point score from James Suckling.VIK’s architectural landmark — its hilltop winery by Pritzker Prize finalist Smiljan Radic — further establishes the estate as a beacon of innovation in Chilean wine country.

A defining aspect of VIK’s achievement is its deep commitment to the land. Much of the estate is preserved as protected wilderness to support native flora and fauna, while water conservation, energy efficiency, and low-intervention winemaking guide every decision. A standout innovation is Barroir, VIK’s pioneering system for crafting barrels from native estate wood, allowing its wines to express not only place but the very identity of the surrounding forest.

VIK in Chile’s Millahue Valley is comprised of VIK Vineyard and Winery and Vik Chile, the striking hilltop retreat, which together form the foundation of the VIK experience. Since its debut, VIK has garnered international recognition for its daring approach to art, design, sustainability, and hospitality. Every element is guided by a philosophy of holism: the belief that architecture, nature, gastronomy, and winemaking should work in harmony to create an immersive and unforgettable stay that connects guests to Chilean culture and the surrounding landscape. VIK’s wine portfolio includes VIK, Milla Cala, and La Piu Belle. Its wine-tourism program is centered around Vik Chile, complemented by a vibrant culinary offering that draws on local ingredients, the property’s organic garden, and a precision-driven approach to cuisine.
