Villa Marie Saint Barth, the 23-room property from famed French hotelier and interior designer Madame Jocelyne Sibuet, founder of Maisons + Hotels Sibuet, reopened its doors on March 2. The property also unveils two new villas, and is among the first few hotels to reopen following Hurricane Irma.
Located in a private, privileged location high above Flamands Bay, Villa Marie Saint Barth offers the sense of staying in your chic, French friend’s home with a mix of colonial and bohemian Gypset design reminiscent of Saint Barth’s bygone era, exuding authentic French charm and intimacy that is synonymous with the Maisons + Hotels Sibuet brand.
The new, two-bedroom Villa Saline and two-bedroom Villa Colombier invite guests with their quintessential views and spacious living rooms that open onto large, outdoor private spaces, complete with two full bathrooms, ideal for families or couples traveling together. Each villa conveys its own individual style, design, and color palette, as do all the accommodations at Villa Marie Saint Barth. A whimsical ceramic parrot, or a seashell-studded mirror are some of the objet d’art hand chosen by designer Mme Sibuet who travels the world for inspiration and accessories for her hotels.
Villa Saline features an outdoor Jacuzzi with a covered terrace surrounded by fragrant frangipani, hibiscus and other tropical flora, while the interior embodies an old world, exotic wanderlust with colonial beds, handcrafted rattan headboards, shades of indigo, lively Copacabana fabrics from French designer Lalie, and handmade leather trunk details. Villa Colombier boasts a private swimming pool and an eclectic take on mid century modern design with a framed Slim Aarons photograph, and a vintage Audoux Minet buffet table, while white, canopied beds cap off the tropical ambiance.
Villa Marie Saint Barth offers 23 individually decorated bungalows and villas, some with private pools, all with sea views or luxury garden views. The architectural style blends Colonial plantation influences and colorful chic Caribbean flair creating a unique bohemian atmosphere. Seashell and pink coral beach accents and vibrant tropical fabric flourishes in the public spaces contrast against polished woods and earthy decor elements like hand woven cordage and bamboo. The elegant French ethos of the François Plantation Restaurant is at the center of the hotel, serving classic French specialties with a distinctive island influence by Chef Emmanuel Motte. Guests can also try the exceptional selection of rums and Cuban cigars at the Hotel Bar and lounge in the tranquility of The Garden, providing an oasis of calm amongst lush tropical flora and fauna perfect for lunch and an afternoon dip in the pool. To round out the experience, guests can bliss out at Pure Altitude Spa, a signature amenity of the Sibuet brand, offering personalized rituals including the After-Sun Jasmine repairing treatment or Himalayan Rose regenerating treatment.
Rates for Bungalows start from 400€ to 2,100€ and Villas from 1,350€ to 4,200€. The new Villa Saline starts 1,350€ and Villa Colombier starts from 1,750€. Rates are for two guests and include breakfast, airport pick up and return shuttle.
