Where the Jet Set are Vacationing this Summer

Post-pandemic, more people than ever are flying private (Air Charter Service, has seen a 23% rise in new private jet customers and a 47% increase in private jet bookings overall for 2022). And it’s no wonder – private means no airport security, crowds, queues or fellow passengers.

But where are these affluent flyers headed this summer? Below are the top destinations for the ‘jet-set’ according to the experts and data from Air Charter Service:

Marrakech

This is the first year that Marrakech has appeared as a top destination for Air Charter Service – and with its bustling souks, bursting with authentic artifacts and heady aromas, ultra-luxury hotels and year-round heat, it’s no wonder it’s soaring in popularity.

Where to stay: Riad Elegancia – a boutique riad hotel set in the heart of the Medina

Palma

More popular than Nice for the first time this year, Palma is a firm favourite amongst the jet set for its honey-coloured buildings, historical sites, gothic cathedral, galleries, craft studios and cosy bars. One of Mallorca’s treasures, Palma is peppered with luxury hotels in vibrant bohemian neighbourhoods; a place to spend sun-drenched days or a base from which to explore the bounty of the island.

Where to stay: Can Cera – a refurbished 17th-century palace just ten minutes from Palma’s golden sands

Faro

Faro has soared in popularity with the jet-set over the past few years, and it’s clear to see why. The Algarve’s capital has long been overlooked and used as a stopover, but now, luxury travellers are soaking up its bustling plazas, picturesque old town and winding cobbled streets.

Where to stay: Pousada Palácio de Estói – a palace hotel with a storied past, 15-minutes from Faro’s centre

Ibiza

Ibiza is a destination that hasn’t moved from the top spot in years. The Balearics’ party-hard sister is popular amongst ravers, beach-lovers and hippies, who descend on the pine-clad island year after year, not just for the incredible nightlife, but for its striking sunsets, secluded coves, rich history and heritage. Plus, there’s no shortage of beautiful hotels.

Where to stay: Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay – a boho-chic hideaway from the global luxury lifestyle Nobu brand
