Wilderness England Introduces a Pair of New Sailing Holidays for 2023

Specialist operator Wilderness England has introduced a pair of new sailing holidays to its roster of trips for 2023. Sailing aboard the Eda Frandsen, a 75-year-old cutter, guests will get a fresh perspective of the coastline of England, gliding into secluded bays, watching dolphins race alongside and enjoying an unforgettable holiday.
Set up following the pandemic, Wilderness England is a sister company to the award-winning Wilderness Scotland and Wilderness Ireland. The tour operators offer a range of nature-based guided small-group and self-guided trips in some of the UK and Ireland’s wildest corners, with a keen emphasis on sustainability. After partnering with eCollective for a comprehensive carbon audit, each Wilderness holiday now has an exact carbon score, so that guests can make informed decisions on the impact of their holiday.

NEW SAILING HOLIDAYS

Sailing: Cornwall
Setting sail from the harbour town of Falmouth, this fantastic short break will settle guests into life on the sea, with the itinerary far from fixed and dependent upon the winds and the weather. With two full days on board, there’s the chance to explore the mudflats and shaded coves of the Helford River, home to an amazing array of birdlife including herons, kingfishers and little egrets, or to spot the basking sharks and dolphins found near Fowey. Guests can join in with life on board and embrace the working nature of the yacht, or simply take the opportunity to relax as the sun glows pink on the horizon. Price: from £660pp based on two sharing, including three nights’ accommodation on the Eda Frandsen, all meals, and activities. Depart on 7th, 14th or 21st April 2023.

Sailing: West Coast of the UK
This is an epic journey following the Celtic coast of the UK, with wildlife encounters and wild isles aplenty. Leaving from Cornwall, the first stop is the Isles of Scilly, an archipelago with its own micro-climate, where myth and history run deep, and freshly caught mackerel are on the menu for lunch. Over the next week, the route meanders up the west coast with possible stops at the Isle of Man, Ireland and the southern Hebrides in Scotland. The final stop is the Isle of Arran, home to three endemic tree species, the summit of Goat Fell and the atmospheric Brodick Castle, and is the perfect place to shake off the sea legs and explore. After a final swim and coffee, guests leave their bunks aboard the Eda Frandsen at Troon. Price: from £1,405pp based on two sharing, including nine nights’ accommodation on the Eda Frandsen, all meals, and activities. Depart on 29th April 2023.
