Wilderness Safaris' Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp featured in Travel + Leisure's It List
Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is located in the remote Palmwag Concession, straddling the Palmwag area and the Skeleton Coast National Park. It combines luxurious comfort with a low-impact design that is sensitive to the fragile desert environment, operating on 100% solar power. It is comprised of eight stylish en-suite tents (including one family unit) each with a shaded outdoor lounge area where guests can relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding desert, while the main area includes a lounge, bar area, dining room, fire pit, swimming pool and deck. The area is home to desert-adapted elephant, as well as gemsbok, giraffe, springbok and occasionally lion.

"We are thrilled that the editors of Travel + Leisure have included Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp among the world's most exciting new properties. Since opening in August last year, we have been proud to share this truly off-the-beaten-track destination with adventurous travelers from across the globe. This esteemed recognition is a huge vote of confidence for the meaningful and life-changing experience we strive to deliver," said Mike Wassung, CEO of Wilderness Safaris Namibia.

Describing Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp, Travel + Leisure says: "Namibia's Skeleton Coast, named for the centuries of shipwrecks on its rugged shores, has traditionally been a place for only the most intrepid of safari-goers. Enter Wilderness Safaris' Hoanib Camp, a desert oasis along the Hoanib River that is luring a new set of travelers to experience what it feels like the end of the earth."

Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp can be combined with Wilderness Safaris' other exceptional offerings in the north-west region to create an authentic and evocative desert experience within Namibia, from Damaraland and Desert Rhino Camp to Serra Cafema in the far north.

The Travel + Leisure It List is selected by the publication's editors who log thousands of miles in order to evaluate the year's most exciting new openings. The 43 winners are those who, in Travel + Leisure's view, will have the greatest impact on the global landscape of hotels, lodges and camps. The full list will be published in the March issue of Travel + Leisure.
