Wilderness Safaris' Linkwasha Camp Opens in Zimbabwe

The camp, located in close proximity to the famed Ngamo Plains, provides travelers with exceptional wildlife viewing year-round and offers a level of luxury that can't be found elsewhere.

Situated in a private, wildlife-rich concession in Zimbabwe's renowned Hwange National Park, Linkwasha Camp will offer the most luxurious accommodations in the area, with eight en-suite double or twin tents and one family tent, for a total of 18 guests. Linkwasha Camp's architect, Joy Brasler, designed the camp to maximize privacy while maintaining a sense of openness that allows for superb views of the nearby Pan.

Characterized by its light environmental footprint, Linkwasha Camp blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape and allows for natural cooling cross-breezes and maximum light penetration to keep energy requirements low. Each tent is fashioned with an eclectic mix of contemporary interiors and feature private verandas, ceiling fans and outdoor showers. Overlooking a bountiful waterhole, the camp has a welcoming dining area and a cozy library with indoor fireplace, perfect for cool evenings while watching elephants arrive for a drink.

The concession's savannah grassland habitat is the ideal environment for guests to enjoy guided safari walks and game drives where they may encounter large herds of elephant and buffalo, prides of lion, leopard, spotted hyaena, giraffe, sable, blue wildebeest, Burchell's zebra, waterbuck and reedbuck. Hwange is similarly a hotspot for birders, with more than 400 species found in the area. Other activities include visits to the Ngamo community, enjoying fresh "out-of-the-oven" pizzas and sundowners in the bush. Travelers can also spend a night under the stars at a nearby "Star Bed."

This will be Wilderness Safaris' fourth camp in Hwange, complementing Little Makalolo, Ruckomechi Camp and Davison's Camp. Travelers who stay three consecutive nights or longer at Linkwasha Camp, along with Davison's Camp, Little Makalolo or Ruckomechi Camp, will receive a 50% discount on Wilderness Air flights between these camps and the Victoria Falls/Hwange area, to complete their stay in Zimbabwe.
