Wineries in Nevada?
Two of the four wineries that are located in Nevada are found in a small town called Pahrump, just a one hour drive west of Las Vegas.

The first winery, Pahrump Valley Winery, has won more than 350 awards since 2004, with an additional 17 awards garnered at national wine competitions this year. Their 2005 Nevada Ridge Zinfandel won a gold medal at the Pacific Rim International Competition marking it as the first in the state's history! Several of their other wines including the Primitivo, Silver State Red, Tempranillo, Syrah and Barbera have all won gold medals at international wine competitions with the primitive being the most highly decorated, receiving two double-gold medals. The winery offers wine tastings on all of their wines and also offers tours daily. In addition to the wine, visitors of the winery can also enjoy the gourmet Zagat rated restaurant, Symphony's, which is named after the winery's most popular white wines.

Sanders Family Winery which has an architectural structure reminiscent of a renaissance period Italian Tuscan Villa is nestled away in the quiet country side of Pahrump with Mt. Charleston as the backdrop. Owned and operated by Jack Sanders, his family has been growing grapes and making wine for more than 30 years. This year the Sanders Family Winery was asked by the Nevada Tourism Commission to participate in the celebration of Nevada's 150 years of statehood with a special bottling of one of its wines as a commemorative souvenir. This is the second time he has been asked to participate in a statehood celebration with the first one being 25 years ago when he packaged a set of three bottles. Although this winery doesn't have a restaurant like the Pahrump Valley Winery, they do have a theater where every month they put on different shows and can host weddings. Tastings at the winery are complimentary.
