Ynyshir Hall: Stairway to Heaven & Gateway to Mother Nature
For many, Ynyshir Hall is something of a spiritual retreat where days are devoid of stress and where the beautiful environment contributes to an overall state of well-being. Close to the RSPB Ynys-hir Reserve, the beautiful Dovey Valley, Artists Valley (Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven was born here) and Borth Beach and the home of the BBC Show Springwatch – there is plenty to inspire guests body and mind.

Ynyshir Hall absorbed Queen Victoria and today trees planted by her can be found in the ‘Garden of Zen' surrounding the 10 bedroom hotel which features exotic and native shrubs & trees. The hotel has the good fortune to share its Dyfi estuary location with one of Britain's finest bird reserves, the RSPB Ynys-hir Nature Reserve. It is also a UNESCO Biosphere area; the only one in Wales and the second in the whole of the UK.

Joan and Rob Reen first arrived at Ynyshir Hall in 1989 and know the hotel, landscape and environment inside out! In the last year the hotel has gone from strength to strength. Young Welsh chef Paul Croasdale achieved 3 AA Rosettes, followed by the hotel being awarded the global 100 hotels in the Fodor's 100 Hotel Awards. Visit Wales also awarded Ynyshir Hall a Gold Standard Award achieved through rigorous mystery customer testing. The Gold Award rewards outstanding quality, exceptional comfort and hospitality in the serviced sector in Wales.

The hotel is surrounded by the Cambrian Mountains and the views from all parts of the hotel are those of mother-nature. Mid Wales is steeped in myth and magic, visitors can walk over wild open mountains, through valleys cut by tumbling crystal waters and across wide sandy beaches.

Allow the landscape to unfold before you; “Your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know, The piper's calling you to join him, Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know Your stairway lies on the whispering wind” .
