Zurich's Dolder Grand Hotel Offers Expressionist Art Package

Discover one of the art movements of the 20th Century with the Zurich and Art package at the Dolder Grand. Presented in cooperation with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Musée des Beaux-Arts in Montreal, "From Matisse to the Blue Rider" reveals Expressionism in its true light, highlighting it as not solely a national movement, but one shaped by the spirit of cosmopolitanism and productive exchange. The Dolder Grand has a history of opening eyes to art in Zurich since completion of its renovation and conversion by Foster and Partners in 2008. Last spring, the hotel began offering a complimentary iPad to guests for use of their new art app to guide guests through its own onsite collection. Given the size and scope of the art collection held by the Dolder Grand, the specially designed app now documents 124 artworks by 90 artists. Users can sort the list by work or location, discover interesting back stories about the artists, and access a map showing the positions of the works including an Andy Warhol, Salvador Dalí and Camille Pissarro to name a few.
