The centrepiece of Luang Prabang is Mount Phousi, or Sacred Mountain, crowned by the spectacular golden spire of Wat Chomsi. This idyllic setting affords views in all directions of stately whitewashed colonial villas and jumbled village houses nestled among rice fields and banana trees. Swooping temple roofs and glinting river surfaces among steep green hills slashed with dramatic ochre cliffs are seen in the distance.
Amantaka will customize guided excursions to experience these scenic attractions. Guests may enjoy day trips to the Khuang Xi waterfall, elephant rides, visits to local tribal villages in the nearby mountains, sunset climbs up Mount Phousi, jungle tours, treks and kayaking on the Khan River.
