The design draws from Gleneagles Hotel's Art Deco style and uses Coco Chanel's clean-lined aesthetic as a key influence. One of the most stunning features of the spa is the dark brown, nearly black, vitality pool, lit by fiber optics and set against a glass wall that looks into the light and airy Courtyard. In addition to ESPA's signature menu, The Spa at Gleneagles by ESPA is offering a bespoke spa treatment, the Golfer's Tonic Massage, targeting swing tension held in the back and neck as well as golf-weary legs and feet. The £8 million renovation of the spa is part of the wider £18 million development program at Gleneagles in preparation for hosting the Ryder Cup in 2014.

Explore

There are castles and historic sites to visit, tours of the countryside to enjoy, the whisky trail to follow (visits to the distilleries), local Highland Games and sheep dog trials to see and the cultural and shopping centers of Glasgow and Edinburgh are only an hour away. The hills beckon the more energetic walker, with the promise of spectacular views over wild moors, glinting lochs and rivers. A more gentle stroll through the sheltered glens will reveal a contrasting lushness. Seasonal Scottish food is simply the best using the highest quality ingredients that are unrivalled. From luscious raspberries or loganberries to rich cream from summer pastures, from plump summer salmon to grouse from the moors and succulent West Coast seafood, this is the stuff from which our chefs make gastronomic dreams. Few who have enjoyed a summer break at Gleneagles will forget the scent of heather and pines, the soft warmth and the long, lingering summer evenings.
