Rooms & Suites: 18
Built in the 16th century, the palazzo's unique design features have been adapted to the needs of travellers seeking luxury and calm, as well as a bit of the high drama that Venice specializes in.
Pulling up in a motorboat or gondola, for instance, is no problem: the hotel has its own private landing stage. All rooms are individually designed, with no cookie-cutter sameness to them, as necessitated by quirks in the ancient building's layout. The junior suites even look out on the Canal, providing an unforgettable first view of the day, while the prestige and luxury rooms have a side view on Rio San Polo. On the first floor the bar is done up in Art Deco style to celebrate Venice's Golden Twenties, and faces the Canal. After an easy day at La Fenice, Palazzo Grassi and the Guggenheim, all within a stone's throw, the Palazzo offers a gorgeous, sophisticated, yet simple welcome home.
