Pimalai Resort & Spa is built on a splendid 100 acres of hilly land of lush tropical forest with direct access to a 900 meters pristine sandy beach. The property is located approximately 2hrs to 2hrs30mns (pending on season) from Krabi International Airport and is reached by the resort's private minibus and cruising boat. The accommodation of restful low-density and of a southern style design, are nestled in this magnificent lush tropical forest, overlooking Kantieng bay, arguably the best bay on the island. In December 2005, was initiated the opening of 39 stunning Pool Villas. The elegantly appointed one, two and three bedrooms pool villas are located on a hillside, some 60 meters above sea level and provide breathtaking views of the majestic Andaman sea and the surrounding lush tropical vegetation. The resort features 75 elegantly appointed rooms and suites offering king size and twin beds and decorated in classy contemporary Thai style design. Check In Time: 2.00pm. / Check Out Time: noon. Deluxe Rooms – 64 units: Sixteen clusters of two-storey buildings of southern Thai style architecture, containing four rooms. Each air-conditioned room has 48 square meters of living space with polished teak wood floor, rich Thai cotton upholstery, Bamboo curtains, and beautiful Siamese artifacts. The bedroom equipped with king size or twin beds open onto a large balcony equipped with wooden furniture and a cooling overhead fan. The adjacent large bathroom includes bathtub, separate walk-in shower and toilets. Pimalai Resort & Spa is spectacularly located, deeply nestled in the lush Ba Kan Tiang bay. Just 70 kms south of Krabi Airport, the resort is set in 100 acres of natural tropical surroundings with direct access to 900 meters of unspoiled pristine sandy beach. There are many exceptional attractions within a short distance of the resort, including the Marine National Park where numerous monkeys and other wildlife can be spotted and the famous and stunning Emerald Cave on Koh Muk. Sea canoeing is also possible on nearby rivers. At last, Scuba Diving sites (Nov – April only) are exceptional in this part of Thailand because the surrounding coral reefs remain untouched. Other island excursions include Koh Rok, Koh Kradan, Koh Gnai and Koh Haa. Transportation by road from Krabi, can be arranged by the resort; it consists of a 50 minutes drive from Krabi Airport to Bahuahin pier where, adjacent to the public pier, the resort maintains a private jetty and convenience station. Transportation from Bahuahin to Pimalai Resort depends on the season: High Season: From November to mid-April, one of the resort's boats will then take you from Bahuahin for a 60 minutes scenic ride along the east or west coast of the Lanta Islands eventually arriving at the resort's beach jetty. Sturdy casual footwear is strongly recommended for boat travel. Please note that our jetty is an environmental friendly floating jetty; as opposed to an unattractive concrete structure that would spoil the scenery, damage the sea eco-system and would most likely create sand and beach erosion. For these reasons we have opted for this strange looking floating jetty; it is a little bit "awkward" to walk on it but rest assured the resort staff are on standby to give a helping hand. Please note that resort boat transportation operates from 6.00pm to 6.00am. Transfer time in low green season from Krabi airport may vary from 2hrs 15mins to 2hrs 30 mins, depending on weather, sea and road traffic conditions. Climate / When to Visit: November to April is high season and May to October is low season (rainy season). November - February is comfortably warm during the day with cool evenings and relatively low humidity. Temperatures generally range from 25.C to 30.C.March - June is very warm with the temperatures ranging from 28.C to 35.C. July – October, the summer season with higher humidity and scattered tropical showers with Temperatures from 22.C to 30.C.
