Rancho de San Juan is located at the converse of the Ojo Cliente River and the Chama River Valleys as they flow into the magnificent Rio Grande River at the San Juan Pueblo.
Rich in the history of the Hispanic culture, the valley was first enjoyed by the pueblo Indian tribes as a place for hunting and fishing while in route to the natural healing mineral springs of Ojo Caliente. The first Spanish village in the valley was named Ranchos de San Juan and was located directly across the river from where the inn now is located.
