Stoke Park - Buckinghamshire, England - Exclusive 5 Star Luxury Golf Resort

Rooms & Suites: 49

You might remember Stoke Park from the movies when Sean Connery defeated Goldfinger in the famous golf game.

The epitome of 'the British club', Stoke Park is a palace, 'a dazzling vision of white stone, of terraces and cupolas'. Once owned by Queen Elizabeth I and by William Penn (after whom Pennsylvania was named), it is a dream of a stately home with gardens landscaped by Capability Brown and Humphrey Repton. In 1908, a 27-hole parkland golf course, known as Stoke Poges, was created. After 100 years, Stoke Park Club is still going strong: a GBP 13 million spa, health and racquet pavilion was completed in 2002. Sweeping stairs, marble pillars, chandeliers, vast marble bathrooms, four-poster beds, antiques and sumptuous furnishings, make staying at the Club the ultimate in luxury. Award-winning cuisine is served in any of seven private rooms or in the dining room and, with only 49 bedrooms and discreet service, you are made to feel like a very privileged guest. With a recorded history of more than 900 years, the 350 acre estate provides a unique combination of the traditions of a great members club and the best of today's sporting, leisure, entertaining and hotel facilities in one of the most convenient locations in Britain.

Stoke Park offers luxury 5 star standard accommodation within easy reach of Heathrow, Windsor and London. 49 exquisite bedrooms, open to members and non-members alike, boast the finest in interior design and comfort. In the Mansion house there are 21 bedrooms many open onto balconies where guests can enjoy breakfast or evening drinks overlooking the 350 acres of parkland and historic gardens. The Pavilion hosts 28 bedrooms that again have magnificent views of the grounds, the grass tennis courts and Windsor Castle. Each bedroom and suite is individually designed with antiques, paintings and original prints, satellite television; I-pod docking station, direct dial telephones, broadband, superb marble en-suite bathrooms with heated floors and mirrors, cast iron baths and most have marble showers.

Set within 350 acres of historic parkland and gardens, Stoke Park combines sumptuous luxury and refined elegance with some of the finest sporting and leisure facilities in the country. The exterior splendour of the breathtaking Palladian mansion is mirrored by the individually decorated bedrooms and suites, where antiques, sumptuous fabrics, and beautiful marble bathrooms with under-floor heating render each a masterpiece of luxurious indulgence.

As a guest, you have complimentary use of the Club's new Health and Racquet Pavilion (indoor swimming pool with hydro-seat jacuzzis, state-of-the-art gymnasium, multi-surface tennis courts, steam rooms, and dance and fitness studios) Residents may also book individual treatments from the spa's treatment menu. To avoid disappointment, it is advisable to book treatments, restaurant places, rounds of golf, tennis courts and lessons prior to your visit.
