Rooms & Suites: 20
Originally the home of author Sinclair Lewis, Twin Farms offers 20 cottages and suites that feature sophisticated yet eccentric, private art collections.
Each cottage and suite is decorated to a distinctive theme, and offers guests both privacy and intimacy with fireplaces and screened porches. Every element of the stay is included in the nightly rate, including individually customized menus (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and outdoor activities. Located approximately three hours from Boston, five hours from New York City, and one-and-a-half hours from Burlington, VT the journey into this bucolic landscape sets the mood for a vacation away from the pace of daily life.
Each season ushers in a special blend of activities throughout 300 acres of forest, meadows, and ponds including include bicycling, croquet, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, fly fishing, hiking and trail running, ice skating, sledding, swimming and tennis. With the equipment and service included in the rate, guests can choose to explore independently or request a guide through a number of activities.
The ever-changing dining experience is shaped by the seasons with award-winning Chef Ted Ask at the helm. In the dining room at the Main House, Chef Asks dining philosophy revolves around using the freshest ingredients available each day, locally-grown herbs and vegetables, and guests dietary preferences. Lunch and dinner are set menus, but the team is always willing to prepare a special picnic for guests to enjoy while they are experiencing the surrounding wilderness. Wine and cocktails are included with each meal, and tea time and late-night milk and cookies are a regular occurrence.
The salon and two treatment rooms in the Out of the Woods Spa, feature glass brick steam rooms and seasonal treatments and products designed by Arcania Apothecary of England. Developed specifically for Twin Farms, Out of the Woods is a collection of 100% vegetarian bath and body products inspired by Vermont's rural setting. Each distinct product is prepared entirely by hand in the Arcania Apothecary lab in Somerset, England using natural botanical ingredients and pure essential oils. Guests can also escape to the 104-degree Japanese furo, or enjoy in-room couples massage therapy. The Fitness Center provides a sheltered alternative to the range of outdoor activities.
