W Washington, DC - Luxury Hotel

Rooms & Suites: 317

As the closest hotel to the White House, W Washington D.C. has ushered in a new age of modern glamour.

Known originally as the Hotel Washington, the W Washington D.C. was the oldest continually operating hotel in the city, from 1888-2007, when it closed for a $91 million renovation, and opened as the W Washington D.C. in 2009. Oscar winner Marilyn Monroe stayed within its storied walls, and scenes from “The Godfather, Part II”, which won Best Picture in (1975), were filmed in the hotel's lobby. Acclaimed designer Dianna Wong has reimagined the historic Hotel Washington, infusing bright colors and contemporary design while preserving the building's Beaux Arts architecture, setting the stage for W Hotels' fully integrated lifestyle experience. W Washington D.C. has introduced two firsts to the District: a signature Bliss® spa and three star Michelin chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten's J&G Steakhouse. The hotel's 317 stylishly designed guestrooms, including 23 Marvelous suites, seven WOW suites, and an Extreme WOW suite (W's reinterpretation of the traditional Presidential Suite), all incorporate Wong's neo-romantic designs found throughout the property.
