Casa Marina, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Key West Hosts International Sand Art Competition
The competition will take place from Wednesday, November 26 through Saturday, November 29, on the resort's private beach. The sculptures will be available to the public for viewing through Sunday, November 30.

As part of the competition, six world-renowned sand sculptors will craft massive works of art in the sand with masonry trowels, shovels and, most significantly, their hands. On Saturday, November 29, a winner will be selected, judged by the sculptors themselves by predetermined judging parameters. Master sand artists participating in the competition include hometown rock star Chris Guinto, Rusty Croft from “Sand Masters,” Mexico's own Benjamin Probanza, ‘Michelangelo of the Sand' Dan Doubleday, professional sand sculptor Dan Belcher and Jooheng Tan from Singapore.

Each day, visitors will have the opportunity to view the sculptures' progress, including a VIP meet and greet with the sculptors on Saturday, November 29. Closing out the competition Saturday evening, there will also be an award ceremony and musical celebration. In addition, visitors can also view the artists' sculptures nightly through Sunday, November 30, with lighted night viewing and festivities.
